The video below makes me happy. It’s a part of the garden I’m very proud of and one that has filled in nicely over time.
After watching this life-changing video, check out the photos below which identify all of the plants that were part of the mini-tour. I’ve even linked the pics to sites where you can read more about each.
You are so welcome.
Hypericum ‘Blue Velvet’
Physostegia (Obedient Plant) ‘Vivid’
This is how they looked only a little over one year ago. How quickly they fill in.
Sorbaria sorbifolia (False Spirea)
Veronica (cultivar unknown … my bad … the spreadsheet wasn’t updated.)
Pennisetum (Fountain Grass) ‘Desert Plains’
In September
In October
They look wonderful! And yes, the physostegia likes to migrate and spread very easily! I wish ours would bloom again. I thought they might this year but they deer came through. *sigh*
I’ve gotta see if obedient plant grows here in zone 3. Mucho thanks!
Perhaps your veronica is Sunny Border Blue. I have one and it blooms for a long time, sitting next to gorgeous orange Butterfly Weed.
The physostegia is what I call a “take over plant” or even a thug. I ousted mine and stuck it in a no-man’s land where it can spread all it wants. Unlike you, who wants things to fill in, I like my plants to each know their place and stay put. Thus I rarely have masses, but rather one of this, one of that. Gardeners have their own styles, eh?
Nice ONG … just curious, can Venus Flytraps be grown outdoors in the Garden State?
