Today is a depressing day.
The vitriol on Facebook is a disgrace. From both sides.
I’m not comfortable or thrilled with the direction we are heading but the people have spoken.
I can only hope this is rock bottom and we some how trend up from here.
As a white middle class male it is ignorant of me to speak on anyone’s behalf. I’ve been the privileged one from day one. But I can only hope the rhetoric is just that, rhetoric.
Equality is all that matters.
Now we wait and see and fight where necessary but also do our best to keep an open mind across the board and keep constructive dialogue alive as much as humanly possible.
Pie in the sky? Maybe. But what are our other options?
Soap box over.
The weather was the perfect metaphor today. Rainy and cold but if you looked beyond that, you can discover beauty.
At least that is what I’m rolling with for today.
Great autumn shots and a good reminder to move on as the garden does.
hi, thanks, yes beautiful – as Peter/ Outlaw said.
move on, & unfortunately there are a few more little bits to deal with! this is not smooth! not safe! not OK! like the pundits and commentators & our own Barack Obama – bless his heart, he’s trying to keep us all safe, but today he’s giving the state security secrets to a cocaine user/ woman hater, etc. – and that includes Mother Earth & gardens. We gardeners know that She does prevail. so, no worries there. But heck to pay for many of us. Wish i could give a shout out to all the ladies, including exes, and maybe mothers of his illegitimate children, that whatever it is he made them sign – they can get protection from the FBI. just come forward, & prosecute before it’s too late. we’d have an emergency re-vote so as to not get stuck with Pence. PLEASE, something needs to happen. …beautiful out today, i’ll go look at my purple asters. Question, what should i do for barely-hanging in there 6 month old Rhododendrons??? Thanks!!
Sensitive and moving words as usual, and the pictures are beautiful and so far reflective of the mood. Thanks.
Stunning shots! I always used to cover my eyes when Lucy did something crazy (I Love Lucy). I suspect I will be blind for a while, lol!
Nice sentiments, John. We just need to hang in there. I personally love that people are protesting as it makes me feel that at least more than half of our country is not racist. Look to your garden to stay optimistic. Let’s hope that this is just an unfortunate blip in our history that will right itself. In the meantime, I’m grateful that my children and grandchildren all live in Canada.
Thanks for those good words and great grassy shots.
