As she does every morning around 6:30 or so, Casey (the greatest labrador retriever ever created) cried to go outside. I dragged my tired butt out of bed to open the front door for her and what a greeting I received when I stepped outside:
How can you not feel good to be alive when you see that? I had to create a quick post early this morning to share with you.
And it didn’t end there. My good buddy and favorite ornamental grass was showing some serious spunk:
After looking like this only two days ago:
We have a little ways to go with some of the other ornamental grasses:
But you won’t get a negative word out of me today.
Have a fantastic weekend my friends!

I woke up – turned my alarm off – sure it was Saturday. I was surprised when everyone else got up! sandie
i was rolling from my left to my right around 6:30….it’s a beautiful sunrise, glad you were up to see it!!
Looks like you sprinkled some coffee and ginseng around your plants! Fantastic sky photo!
My Miscanthus is doing the same thing 🙂
Beautiful shots, it’s almost worth getting up that early.
You made me smile.

A great way to start the day!
Beautiful shots – truly a reason to get up early!
What an awesome sky to see first thing in the morn!
What a beautiful red sunrise. Our sunrise yesterday (11/4) in upstate NY was so red, too, that I wish I had a camera with me. The other pictures were lovely, too.
Fantastic sunrise, I particularly like the cloud formation with all the colours bouncing off it.
Can’t resist asking about the barberries in the last picture. How old are they? And are they “Aurea”?? I just planted one a month ago with the same brilliant reds like yours, but mine is so small!!! Are yours more than a couple years old? I’m wondering how fast mine will grow…
My hubby is a duck hunter and he teases me all the time about missing all the gorgeous views at sunrise, but ya know, some of the those sunsets are spectacular too….
all is beautiful in your world…love the grasses!
