Even though we are expected to see 80 degree temps this weekend, make no mistake, autumn has arrived. All I want to do is eat apples, juggle pumpkins and put on a hoodie. Yes, I’m embracing the season and have moved on from the summer. A few photos for you:
I’m still trying to determine why this maple tree is called ‘October Glory’:
The River Birch trees are ready to step up to the big leagues now that it is getting cooler. The yellow foliage is the appetizer with the peeling winter bark one mutha of an entree:
Amsonia and Itea ‘Henry’s Garnet’ are quite the dynamic duo, eh?
Have a great one!
John
Easily my most favorite season of the year… for many a reason. Though work seems to slow down, it’s also a time to finish strong and gear up for the following Spring.
I want to see video of you juggling pumpkins.
I really, really want an October Glory maple. I think that may be my next tree. The only thing I worry about is if it can stand up to hurricane force winds while it’s young and skinny-trunked, since trees are only supposed to be staked for a year….
Tim – it is a phenomenal time of year, I only hesitate to embrace it because it means winter is coming.
Kyna – My OG maples are only about 5 years old and they have survived some serious winds. Do it already!
Love the Fall color share you know we don’t get much of that here in So Cal <|;-) My liquid amber trees are my only Fall color treat!
the maple is GORGEOUS…enjoyed your post!
Terrific photos! I loved that maple tree.
Do you do landscaping ? 🙂 I have a brand new 1/2 acre that is going to be quite the challenge. Have a great week. …Marsha
You just can’t beat fall colour! I’m loving that Amsonia and Itea combination. I just wish Amsonia liked our scottish winter down in this frost pocket I have as a garden.
I so love this time of the year. Here in NC I am still growing some veggies in my raised beds and the colors are so pretty.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Aren’t the colours wonderful at this time of year. Your October maple tree is just lovely.
Thank you for following me, I’m following you as well now 🙂
oooohhhhh john, you are still excited about “things”. i have lost all my passion. when i walk through the yard, i close my eyes and try not to look at all that needs to be done!! the hubs pulled the impatiens yesterday, they were looking pretty ugly!! and don’t get me started on those daylilies…yuk!!
Some nice colors to share, been a charmer around me this year.
Love that maple tree! As for spiders, husband catches them and puts them outside, till the weather gets too cold. Then he just leaves them in the house. When my DD was young, she was so afraid of spiders that she would get me out of bed to kill the ones in her room. It took her an hour to make her first kill…
Fall is so glorious…I can never quite believe there are people who don’t like it! The Amsonia paired with the Itea is genius.
Excellent goods from you, gentlemale. I’ve perceive your stuff past to and you’re simply extremely wonderful.
