My kids know I write this blog and that it is about “flowers”. But I never really thought they cared about all of my rhetoric or even wondered why daddy was taking photos in the Downward Dog position each morning.
Well, I was shocked this evening when out of the blue and without any prompting from me, both of the kids displayed an interest in gardening like I’ve never seen before. Even better, I just happened to have my phone with me so I could spontaneously capture it on film. Here they are:
There may just be hope for them both.
ONG
Absolutely darling kids! And, that’s a pretty cool Yellow Lab, too.
completely spontaneous on their parts, i’m sure! 🙂
hmmmm. I’m suspicious. I think candy was involved.
So cute! Love budding gardeners. My daughter just announced she is changing her university from equine science to agriculture so you just never know what may happen.
Cool, a new generation of gardeners. Totally awesome!!
Priceless! The gardening bug must be spreading through children of all ages as the give-a-way post was all about our 15 year old.
No prompting right? How cute though. My kids know about my blog too. They are how ever very familiar with Mommy having a camera attached to her hand 24/7
Cool kids ONG, and so good for them to take an interest when so young. If all schools had gardening on their syllabus, then I am sure there would be more peace in the world!
Lois – thanks for the kind words, our Lab is almost 12 but still acts like a puppy
Tex – the spontaneity was amazing, huh?
Jess – I’ve discovered that bribery is the greatest parenting skill I own
TBG – that is great to hear about your daughter! I think my son will never take to this but I do have hope for my daughter
Meems – we’ll see, I have to push them but not too much
Darla – I do think the bug is spreading and that is an awesome thing
Melissa – no prompting at all or multiple takes or complaints that I didn’t get their best side.
Gary – thanks for the kind words. Gardening does need to get added to the syllabus, and maybe I need to get involved with that!
I am in full agreement with Jess. Chocolate in particular must have been involved. However my baby girl, who is now 37yrs old, took to gardening. My son, who is 39, appreciates the garden and likes to mow, go figure that one.
